Fill in the blank Friday

I know I owe you all some serious updates, but it's been a little nuts around these parts this week and I just haven't been in a blogging mood. But, I will fill you all in soon (I want to gush about the new man) and until then, do you all mind settling for some more blanks? Thanks...ya'll are the best!

(via Pinterest)

1. My favorite new blog of the moment is Across the Pond.

2. Something I am thankful for is my job. There are days I would rather be anywhere than at work, but in the end I love the challenges of what I do, and I love the people I am fortunate enough to work with.

3. Something that made me laugh this week was any number of funny stories that are constantly passed around the office.

4. An item that is currently on my wish list is a new cell phone. I am still resisting getting a smart phone, but it is time to update my old clunker, even though I adore it!

5. I am excited about going to the Potters Guild show with my parents tonight and then spending the evening with the new man...handsome man and a home-cooked meal? Yes please!

6. If I were a color I would be green. I'm partial because green is my favorite color, but also because there are so many shades of green that can match up with just about any mood; it seems perfectly fitting to me.

7. My favorite way to spend a chilly fall day is by drinking lots of hot coffee and tea, indulging in cinnamon rolls, staying in pjs for the entire day, watching movies and reading.

In the spirit of the coming Spring...

...I thought we could do a little wishful shopping for dresses at Anthropologie. These are by no means all of the dresses that I'm currently drooling over, just a smattering.

Wanderlust is getting the best of me

Do you ever have one of those mornings where you wake up and would rather be somewhere else? That's the kind of morning that I'm having. It's not that anything is truly wrong, it's just a general sense of wanderlust that I can't seem to kick. I'm a creature of habit and am happily settled into my little life, but every 6 months or so, I want out. I want to get on a plane, take a break from Colorado and immerse myself in new scenery.
If I could throw together a suitcase, grab my book and purse and hop a flight this morning I'd like to find myself:

- drinking Penfolds cabernet sauvignon and laughing with Jamie, Nick and Andy in Bathurst, Australia.

- in Cambridge, MA...browsing through the used bookshelves at the Harvard Bookstore with a soy latte in hand.

- Eating a pretzel the size of my head while wandering through old town Heidelberg, Germany.

- Bicycling from winery to winery in Napa Valley (there's sunshine and a sundress in my fantasy).

- in Paris with my Mom. I want to eat pastries at a little cafe, get lost wandering around the city and see my Mom's reaction to viewing the city from the top of the Eiffel Tower. I want to fight the crowds to see the Mona Lisa and then show my Mom my favorite Degases at the Musee d'Orsay. And, I want to be there when she's dazzled by Versailles.

- bundled up against the snow flurries in Vail, CO with Jamie. We'd window-shop, take too many pictures and gorge ourselves on spaetzle.

- strolling through downtown Providence, RI, eventually ending up at Amy's Cafe where I could sit at the little table by the window, reading and people-watching while enjoying a grilled cheese with tomatoes, sweet potato fries and a mug of coffee that never seems to empty.

There's nothing wrong with a little wanderlust...

Where would you all like to be right now?

Wish List: artwork

So, in my lunch break blog-hopping I came across a post on Life's Little Adventures about her newly purchased art and immediately fell back in love with Clare Elsaesser's oil paintings. Yes, I said it, back in love. I've come across Tastes Orangey on etsy before (probably via another art lover's blog) and swooned over her pieces, but in typical Erin fashion it eventually slipped my mind. So while it might slip my mind again, for now I'm going to continue to ooh and ahh over some of my favorites:

November

To Sea

Fall

Shadows

I'm already formulating in my mind where I would hang these in my apartment...
